Whitby Freestyle to include fun 15 minute competition.
As part of a series of activities to promote and encourage dancers to enter the UK Modern Jive Championships in November, a FUN Dance With a Stranger Competition will be held during the May 16th Freestyle.
There is no cost to enter, other than the normal door price for the freestyle, but you have an opportunity to win a trophy and £50 to the winning couple.
It's your chance to strut your stuff and get to feel what it's like to be a on a competition dacne floor, and all in the friendly environment of your local dance venue.

UK Modern Jive Championships to be held at Whitby
OK, we announced last Wednesday that something major was going to be happening at Whitby.
We, in conjunction with Paula and Steve are going to bring to Whitby, your very own major competition. It's your chance to show how good you all are and participate in
The UK Modern Jive Championships.
We expect there to be dancers of all levels from around the country attending, including the current World Modern Jive Champion Gary Stubbs, who has kindly agreed to use his photo in our publicity. Thank you Gary. But, most of all, we hope that lots of you here now will take part either as competitors or spectators.
The date is Friday 14th and Saturday 15th November.
There will be a Freestyle on Friday evening with a fun element to the night.
The competition will be run during Saturday daytime, with another fabulous freestyle on Saturday night.
We have Tony Murphy lined up as our MC.
Tony Murphy is the best MC in the country, many of you will have seen the brilliant job he did of MC'ing at Blackpool and we are very lucky to have him.
We have top notch judges lined up, including;

· Keith Davies
· Phil & Wendy Greenall
· Paula Ledsham
· Bev Lewis
· Phil Webb
There are nearly £3,000 of prizes, with a top prize of £500 for the open category.
Medals will be awarded to all finalists, with trophies going to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places
If you would like to enter the competition, but feel you may need a bit of advice on technique, style or just a confidence boost, then Paula and Steve, both multi-championship winners will be only too pleased to give you coaching.
Nearer the event, they are also prepared to run an intensive class or classes to get you ready to take part in your competition.
And if you don’t want to compete, then come along for 2 days and witness a spectacular show of dancing.

Llangollen Weekender 4th - 6th April
Once again we are back at the friendly and luxurious Wild Pheasant Hotel in Llangollen with its lovely new floor.
With its beautiful setting amongst stunning Welsh scenery, views of the hills, gardens and castle, and riverside walk into Llangollen town centre, the Wild Pheasant is a modern hotel complete with a spa.

Just Jive Announces new Wednesday class night at Whitby Sports & Social Club
After registering our interest with Whitby Sports & Social Club nearly 8 years ago, we've finally been given a regular class night at their venue!
We are pleased to let you know that as from August 21st 2013, we will be holding regular class nights following our normal format of 2 classes and lots of freestyle.
